Rambler – Which actor is this?

Born in Scotland in August 1943, this actor and comedian briefly studied for the priesthood as a teenager but changed his mind. Most recently widely seen in the Hobbit movies, his early work was as part of an experimental theatre troupe and featured his stuntman routine which included putting a fork and nails up his nose, stuffing ferrets down his trousers, and setting his head on fire. The name of this character evolved into our actor’s stage name, replacing his birth name of Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith. His early television was mostly children’s, probably most notably Tiswas, and he played the seventh incarnation of the Doctor. Sylvester McCoy
